Skateboarding is not a crime…

September 14, 2007

Drive-by…but doing so down a busy street is sure as hell defying the laws of physics, if nothing else.

Skateboarding is not a crime but some people treat it like it is. I’ve been chased by cops for just holding my board, you c people on bikes on the road so y can’t i ride my skateboard on it!!!

Ah, Doug, my articulate friend… you must understand that my concern is for you and your oh-so-fragile human flesh, being pitted against thousands of pounds of steel. The road-running skateboarder’s crime is not against the laws of human beings, but against the inexorable laws of physics, which are much more strictly and fairly enforced.
And yes, you have a point – bicyclists are in much the same straits, and should perhaps be similarly aware of their peril.

Doug, I’m with you 100%. I’m no skater myself, but I believe skateboarding and rollerblading are just as legitimate modes of transportation as automobiles and bicycles. You pay taxes so you have the right to use the public roads and sidewalks with the transportation of your choice.

All laws that ban the use of blades and boards are hate crimes against youth by the old politicians who pass them.
