Immanuel Kant observed, “Out of the crooked timber of humanity, no straight thing was ever made.” That’s true enough, I suppose. We all fall short. But sometimes – as with the thoughtful and erudite blog Crooked Timber – we mere humans don’t seem to fall short by very much.
