The TJ’s Song

February 18, 2009

You might not be familiar with Trader Joe’s, my favorite boutique grocery store. For me, though… well, I lived in Los Angeles for five years, and then moved to a city which turned out to be next on TJ’s invasion expansion list. After almost twenty years, Trader Joe’s has made itself essential to my way of life. And so this affectionate YouTube video, which hits the nail right on the head in so many ways, pleases me inordinately.

Thanks both to my cow orker Heather and friend Kim (who really should have her own dang blog, considering how many good links she digs up) for pointing me to this one.

Very funny video. The comments are almost funnier – a discussion of whether soy milk can be good for you, how hot the women shopping there are and lots of love expressed for Trader Joes in general. We used to call the original Trader Joe’s store in Pasedena the “Mother Church”

We went to the Pasadena TJ’s once or twice but usually it was the one on Santa Monica, just off the 101 in Hollywood. Ahh, good times.
