You Know They Would

December 4, 2010

No links this time, just a little story.

I woke up this morning with a horrible image in my head. A guy walks down the cereal aisle of his local grocery store, trying to ignore the clamor of all the boxes trying to persuade him to buy them. He gets near the end of the aisle and there, down on the bottom shelf, there’s a dusty box of flakes that says quietly but audibly,

"Please. Just take me home. I'll do anything. Please."

Artificial Intelligence on a chip, so cheap that advertisers can use them in packaging. And you know that if they could, they would.
